Pisa, Italy

It began to tilt from the very beginning, and it would continue for nearly 200 years during completion. The embarassed city fathers in Pisa had no idea that they were creating one of the biggest tourist draws on earth when the bell tower for their beautiful Cathedral went awry. From the top, Marco Polo Kids can see the church, the city, and, in the distance, the hills of Tuscany. Che Buon Natale for Marco Polo kids!

Siena, Italy

Come to Siena with Marco Polo Kids as they run the campo and pretend they're riding in the big race between the neighborhoods that Siena has held for hundreds of years. The dwindling winter light mixes with the ochre of the Sienese hills to create a mystical feeling of Christmas in this, the city man consider the most beautiful in Tuscany.

Rome, Italy

Rome, long the center of Christianity, has only recently shown signs of westernized "Christmas." No Father Christmas or Santa yet, but Pope John Paul II brought the tradition of Christmas trees to the Vatican when he began displaying a large evergreen in St. Peter's square early in his papacy. Still, the cold weather, Christian tradition and longstanding Italian love of life lends a wonderful Christmas spirit to Marco Polo Kids in Rome.

Lucca, Italy

Lucca, once a great power in Tuscany, celebrates Natale with festive colors, a giant ice rink, and sales of Christmas treats like Panetone and candies. From its arena shops to the celebrated wall around the city, Lucca brings its own special flavor to the holiday for Marco Polo Kids.

Florence, Italy

Buon Natale from the birthplace of the Renaissance! The Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, and gelato make La Dolce Vita complete for Marco Polo kids on their Christmas tour of Italy, Firenze
