Rome, Italy

Rome, long the center of Christianity, has only recently shown signs of westernized "Christmas." No Father Christmas or Santa yet, but Pope John Paul II brought the tradition of Christmas trees to the Vatican when he began displaying a large evergreen in St. Peter's square early in his papacy. Still, the cold weather, Christian tradition and longstanding Italian love of life lends a wonderful Christmas spirit to Marco Polo Kids in Rome.
